New Year Brantub - Free Tickets Competition

A blast of free tickets to win to start 2012 with a surprise outing

Competition alert! Start 2012 with a surprise arts trip. On theartsdesk we love crossing the borders - "Surprise me," was the edict of the great impresario of theatre, music, art and dance, Serge Diaghilev, and it's one we hold to here, because we believe in the pleasure of surprises. So please enter our competition, and a pair of tickets to one of the splendid events listed below could be coming your way, but you will take pot luck with which one you win, and who knows? You could discover a new passion.

We will email winners on Sunday 1 January - New Year's Day - with details of how they claim their prize. We have two geographical centres, London and Leeds/Yorkshire, so please don't forget to put down on your competition entry which area you're claiming in. Some tickets are for specific dates, others have a degree of winner's choice. Good luck.

Click here to go to our competition entry form.

You need to submit your entry by the last stroke of 2011 - midnight Saturday 31 December.

“Love crossing borders” what about Scotland then? I entered your completion hoping that you have taken into account travel costs and accommodation given that I live 1100 miles round trip from London nearly 850miles round trip from my house. Why just the North of England and London? Did I fall asleep and independence has been declared , or is it that someone considers Scotland a Cultural desert ? Is the art desk about the United Kingdom or is it English based?
Hi Cath,On theartsdesk we review a fair amount of Scottish events (no, not just the Edinburgh festival and Fringe – e.g. this month we covered the opening of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery), as well as regularly covering Wales, several cities and towns far from London, and also running plenty of international coverage, too – all of which a quick search of the site will surely confirm. But we can always do more, admittedly, and will try to.In this case, the quiz clearly states that the tickets available as prizes would cover two geographical areas: London and Yorkshire. We understand this isn’t ideal for everyone. Next year I’m sure we’ll try to reach other parts of the UK. In the meantime, we’ll certainly be running lots and lots of reviews from all over Britain and beyond.Best wishes, Graeme
